The project represents a research study that approaches the relationship of Arab novels to contemporary historic events in the wake of Arab uprisings against tyrannical regimes. The research poses questions such as: how can the novel satisfy our esthetic aspirations for literature and our passion for truth at the same time? Did Arab novelists succeed in writing a parallel history that manifests our common humanity violated by wars and immortalized by literature?
