Weaving fiction, documentary and archive footage, “Foragers” follows the intersections of power and sustenance around foraging practices – the gathering of wild food plants – in Palestine, and the Galilee in particular. Focusing on ‘akoub’, the film follows the plant from the Israeli Nature Authorities’ efforts to limit this practice under the guise of nature protection, to its cooking in Palestinian homes.
